Community Health Nursing

Community Health Nursing is a key department within the College of Nursing that focuses on promoting and protecting the health of individuals, families, and communities. Established in 2004–2005, the department integrates community-based and family-centered approaches to help students understand how to assess community needs, prevent illness, maintain wellness, and promote public health.

The course emphasizes the study of families, their health needs, and the health services available to them. Students learn about home visits and home health care as essential strategies for reaching families in their own environments.

Through theoretical and practical experiences, students develop the skills needed to care for individuals, families, groups, and whole communities in diverse settings, including urban and rural health centers, schools, workplaces, families, and environmental health sites, in collaboration with the university’s super speciality hospital.
